It’s easy to keep your window treatments looking their best with these simple care & cleaning tips.

 

 

 

    Window Film

    • Regular Cleaning and Stain Removal:
      • Common window cleaners, including ammonia products, may be used 30 days after installation.
      • Blot with soft cloth or squeegee dry.
      • Care must be taken to avoid scratching the film. Do not use abrasive cleaners, bristle brushes, paper towels, or newspaper.
    • Caution:
      • Never apply tape or adhesive products to the window film. Doing so may void the warranty.

    Shutters

    • Regular Cleaning: Dust with a feather duster or lightly vacuum with an upholstery attachment.
    • Soil and Stain Removal:
      • Wood: Clean with Pledge, or other spray polish for wood products, and a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Do not immerse in water; doing so may void the warranty.
      • Composite: Gently sponge with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, then blot dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Do not immerse in water; doing so may void the warranty.

    Solar Shades | Roller Shade & Sliding Panels

    • Regular Cleaning: Dust with a feather duster or lightly vacuum fabric with an upholstery attachment.
    • Soil and Stain Removal:
      • Gently sponge with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, then blot dry.
      • To avoid permanent creasing, do not twist, wring, or fold the fabric, particularly with blackout fabrics.
      • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, strong detergents, or spot removers.
      • Do not dry clean; doing so may void the warranty.

    Horizontal and Vertical Blinds

    • Regular Cleaning: Dust with a feather duster or lightly vacuum with an upholstery attachment.
    • Soil and Stain Removal: Instructions vary by material.
      • Aluminum: Gently sponge with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, then blot dry.
      • Wood: Clean with Pledge, or other spray polish for wood products, and a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Do not immerse in water; doing so may void the warranty.
      • Faux Wood & Composite: Gently sponge with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, then blot dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Do not immerse in water; doing so may void the warranty.
      • Vinyl: Vanes may be removed and immersed in water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.  Leaving a thin film of mild detergent on vanes will eliminate static electricity.
      • Fabric: Gently sponge with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, then blot dry; or use dry fabric cleaner. Do not immerse fabric vanes in water. Do not iron. Do not dry clean; doing so may void the warranty.

    Cellular Shades

    • Regular Cleaning: Dust with a feather duster or lightly vacuum fabric with an upholstery attachment. Use care not to crush the pleats.
    • Soil and Stain Removal:
      • Gently sponge with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, then blot dry.
      • To avoid permanent creasing, do not twist, wring, or fold the fabric, particularly with blackout fabrics. Use care not to crush the pleats.
      • Do not use strong detergents or spot removers.
      • Do not immerse in water.
      • Do not dry clean; doing so may void the warranty.

    Soft Sheers Shades

    • Regular Cleaning: Dust with a feather duster or lightly vacuum fabric with an upholstery attachment.
    • Soil and Stain Removal:
      • Soft Sheers should not be spot-cleaned.
      • Do not immerse in water.
      • Do not dry clean; doing so may void the warranty.
      • Commercial ultrasonic cleaning or injection/extraction cleaning is recommended for most fabrics.

    Drapery, Valances, & Swags

    • Regular Cleaning: Dust with a feather duster or lightly vacuum fabric with an upholstery attachment.
    • Soil and Stain Removal:
      • Instructions may vary by fabric – ask us before cleaning if you are unsure.
      • Gently sponge with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, then blot dry.
      • Test spot treatment sprays on inconspicuous area before use on visible areas.
      • Wash on delicate cycle with cold water in commercial washer, half normal load size, using mild detergent.
      • Tumble dry on low heat, delicate cycle. Do not over-dry.
      • Iron on low setting only, as needed.
      • Professionally steam clean or dry clean if necessary.
      • Pole-mounted valances and swags:  Clean as instructed for drapery fabric.
      • Board-mounted valances and padded cornice boards: Gently sponge with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, then blot dry. Test spot treatment sprays on inconspicuous area before use on visible areas.

    Cubicle Curtains

    • Regular Cleaning: Dust with a feather duster or lightly vacuum fabric with an upholstery attachment.
    • Soil and Stain Removal:
      • Gently sponge with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, then blot dry.
      • Test spot treatment sprays on inconspicuous area before use on visible areas.
      • Wash 160 degrees F max. in commercial washer,  using mild detergent.
      • Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
      • A 30-second spin cycle may be used to remove excess moisture.
      • Tumble dry on low heat, 3-5 minutes. Remove while still damp; do not over-dry.
      • Iron on low setting only, 275 degrees F max., as needed.
      • Do not dry clean; doing so may void the warranty.
